Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Payroll Peril

Culled and restored to something a bit more readable, is this story from Perfect Crime Comics #17 (CROSS PUBLICATIONS, INC.~October, 1951). Read and ride along with Sally Morris as she's taken for a trip, quite literally! But cool-headed Sally manages to "trip up" the crook, instead, heh, heh. The peril is all there in this super-breezy 3-pager. Bonus detail panel at the end.

Nice hand-gag scene...

...and here's a bonus "gotcha" cover scan from Perfect Crime Comics #23. I was going to include this in a cover blitz post but, it fits better in this one. The scene is probably one of my favourite set-ups...

Helga's Slave Search Book 1

Another great Stanton (Jon Bee) story! Completely restored and re-editied for most typos. I only wish I had better scans to work with on this. Most are still somewhat blurred but readable. And, as with most Stanton works, I've no clew when this was originally published (that and I'm too damn lazy to look it up...), so I'm guessing late '50's to mid '60's. Here's Book 1 of Helga's Search for Slaves. I will post Book 2 when I've finished editing it. Bonus details at the end. Read on...

...and here are some choice detail panels...
